Q: .......Mazda 3.......?
Is Mazda 3 a good car?
A: Yes, but it depends on what you're looking for in a car. If you want a decent priced vehicle with a good reliability record, go for it. And if you want it with a bit more pep, I've heard the 2.3liter 5speed engine on the hatchback has a bit more to it. Research what other people (car experts as well as owners) say about it here: www.edmunds.com . Also, go take one for a test drive.
Q: How do you compare Mazda 3 sedan to civic or corolla?
Hi,
It's really hard for me to choose from these three cars: mazda 3, civic or corolla. I like the look of mazda 3 way better than the others, it's more sporty. But I'm not sure whether Mazda has a reputation as good as Honda and Toyota.
Anyone has expericnce with Mazada3? Please help me compare!
Thank you.
A: My bias is the Mazda3. I own a Mazda and I would say that I am satisfied with the base product. I am pleased about the upgrades and I would say that I continue to be happy about my purchase, even now 3 years later. I will attempt to present choices that will greatly assist an informed decision.
Look at the base price and see what you get for the money. If you look close enough their are differences. Then separately review the option packages an look at the cost for what you would like on the car. You should have 2 columns, the base vehicle with it's standard features and the options package, per vehicle. For clarity's sake this would be the 3, Corolla and the Honda Civic. Rank them from lowest $ amount to highest.
Then drive them and see for yourself what fits your personality and your tunes. If it is a stick make sure it responds as fast as you think it should when merging on a freeway. The Mazda3 is a hit, by any Car Magazine, it is rare that you will find the 3 be trashed because it is a Mazda.
Mazda is the 5th largest Japanese car manufacture and continues to have a brand strategy that has responsive engines, light structure (gram strategy) and handling that brings a smile to your face. To say Mazda is as good as a brand is a tricky question. Mazda makes the best 2 seater the Mazda RX5 in the business, hands down, from 1989 to the present. Mazda has sold over 750,000 roadsters. Make no mistake this is Mazda's halo car. Relatedly, Mazda is a leader in research and development with the rotary engine. This is a unique charachter that Mazda brings delivers to it's customers. Yester years technology brought forward with todays solutions that were at onetime stubborn, now the Wankel is charmingly peculiar. They have the Mazda 3 which is a compact super car with it's wide assortment of engine displacements, the same DNA that is baked into all of their product line, is in the bloodline with the 3 and it shows.
To say which one iCar Company is better than the other is subjective; but look at Mazda's record over the last 8 years in the aforementioned vehicles and you wll gain an objective understanding that Mazda Motor Car is on par with it's nearest competitors and exceeds them in the following areas: driving dynamics, they call this Kansei engineering, fuel efficiencies (depending on the country) Mazda has a 1.6 litre Common Rail Diesel that produces 46 miles to the gallon in mixed driving use. And finally, the MazdaSpeed series is a beast by anyone's standard.
If you want something dfferent, reliable, fun and worth the purchase. I would suggest Mazda.
Q: How do you tell the difference between a Mazda 3 and a Speed 3?
When the regular Mazda 3 is a hatchback, how do you set it apart from a Speed 3?
A: Bonnet is little bit higher but there's no scoop.
Rear spoiler has two "spaces" between its own body and the fifth door while Mazda3 standard spoiler attaches to the fifth door across all its lenght.
I'd say the spoiler is the most visually distinctive feature. - See the "holes" - its MPS. Check out the links to the both cars' galleries.
Rear bumper is slightly different, as is the front one, wheels are bigger exhaust ending slighly larger. But these are not details you'd normaly notice when a car passes you by.
Q: How have people found the servicing costs of a mazda 3 beyond 80,000km?
My last two Mazda 3 services have been approx. $1000 each? The car is serviced every 10,000km by Mazda.
Is this normal for a car that now has 90,000km on the clock?
Interested to hear from anybody who has more kms on a Mazda 3 about how they have found the servicing costs beyond 100,000km.
A: It really depends on what they are doing when they service it! you should get a checklist of the services and
1 ask another mazda dealer
2 ask an independent japanese repairshop
I assume you are in CANADA since you say dollars but use km. nonetheless, the US, i expect to change the oil every 7500 miles, pay about 300 dollars at 30k 60k and 90k miles to change all the fluids, brake, trans, engine coolant and oil, replace filters.
timingbelt/waterpump at 90k extra $500
I would be surprised if you were pay $1000 for standard maintence unless you had the timing belt or full brake replacements at the same time.
standard maintence is found in the owners manual but you could look it up at mazda.
Q: How do you install after market tail lights on Mazda 3?
I just bought some led tail lights for my mazda 3 sedan, opened the trunk and realized there is a metal backing around the lights, anyone that has done this could you help? Pictures if possible =(
A: i think you need a square screw driver to get it off. Make sure u dont FORCE it out. taillights have alot of screws attached to them so be carefull.
Assuming that you are not that familiar with cars, take it a shop that you know or get to know a local shop and they might not charge you for it if you go there all the time. (if not its like what 20 bux?)
Q: Is it easy to reposition a Mazda 3 roof rack?
I have a Mazda 3 roof rack (in Australia), which needs to be repositioned a bit. Is this easy to do. I have removed the actual bars and looked at the positioning points and these seemed to be secured to the car with an unusual bolt and I do not have a tool to unscrew it. Can you actually move it, if I could unbolt it, or are these screwed into the car body work? Cheers.
A: ok
Q: Is the Mazda 3 a good car and will it last long?
I'm planning on buying a new Mazda 3 sedan but i'm a little undecided since i'm not too familiar with mazdas and I don't know whether the car will last long. Anybody car savy and know whether or not the Mazda 3 is a good car for the price and performance?
A: The Mazda3 is a great car with good handling, reliability and style. The platform it rides on is considered one of the most substantial, so you should not be disappointed. It also offers a lot of options like a 5-speed automatic transmission in the S model with manual shift, Bose stereo, etc.
As to general durability of Mazda, I have a Protege5 and it just turned over 110k, no major issues beside the normal oil change and brake pads, etc.

Q: How much horses can you get out of the Mazda 3 i model?
Hey I was wondering how much or whats the maximum horse power you can get out of the Mazda 3 i model, it comes out the factory with 148 HP.... How much can it go up to?
A: it's the same block & heads with small mods as the mazdaspeed version (except direct injection of course). i have seen 200 hp on a single turbo with 6psi. nothing else
Q: Is there a difference between a sunroof and moonroof on a 2008 mazda 3?
I'm plannig on purchasing a 2008 mazda3. I'd prefer to be the cheapest though I'm thinking the iTouring would be better, but I'd like one with a sunroof. However, checking out mazda's website, it said something about a moonroof. I've never heard of that. Is there a difference? And if so do all mazda 3 models come with it?
A: The sun roof is just the glass that you manually tilt up from the rear. A moon roof is a power sunroof that slides all the way back, and tilts up.
Q: Who has clutch padel vibration problems on mazda 3?
I have a Mazda 3, 07 model which has minor vibration on the clutch padel when engage or release. The dealership said that is normal for this type of car, who has similar problem?
A: Mazda New Zealand has already issued a TSB "Technical Service Bulletin" for this fault.
For a small range of vehicles, the pressure plate is of an inadaquate material and some vehicles may experience a shudder or chatter especially when cold.
I cannot quote the TSB number as I am not at work.
If your dealer is giving you crap about it, you tell the Service Manager that you personally want to speak with the Mazda Representative for the Dealership (At Mazda Corporate) and you DEMAND that this fault be fixed under Warranty.
If the still give you crap about it. Call Mazda and request to speak with the Regional Customer Relations Manager and tell him about the ineptitude you have experienced with that dealership. And what your problem is.
You will likely be referred to another dealership and given a Mazda courtesy car at no cost to you while your car is being repaired.
This fault will not damage your car but it is one of those irritations that Mazda does not want customers to complain about. EVER
I assure you Mazda WILL DEAL WITH IT. PERIOD!
Q: Can Mazda dealer check the actual mileage for a 2004 mazda 3?
I am planning to buy a second hand 2004 mazda 3 pravitely. The odometer reading shows that the mileage of this car is only about 11000kms. I have checked the service log book from the seller and the record of the odometer reading seems correct. The last service she did is 9000kms , the date was march 2007. But because of the very low mileage of the car so I will pay more than the average price for the seller. So I want to make sure that the mileage is true and I dont want someone to cheat me... Is anyone know that is the mazda dealer has any technology that can find out the actual mileage of the car or can some one give me some good advises as u know my situation.
My English is so poor but i wish some one can really help me. Thank you very much!!!
A: The dealer (or any mechanic) will only be able to check if the odometer is working or not. If the odometer has 6 digits (goes up to 999,999) then the only way the reading could be wrong is if the owner disconected it at one time. This is highly unlikely. If the odometer only has 5 digits one way to determine if the kms are really 11,000 and not 111,000 is just by your visual inspection.
Does the car look like it only has 11,000? Are the carpets still in good shape or are their worn spots where you would place your heal by the gas pedal. Is the brake pedal pad worn or does it still look new. Just basically if it look like it only has 11000 then it probably does.
You could also take to a mechanic and have him look at the car. He will be able to tell, no matter what the odometer says, if it has higher miliage then shown.
Good luck!
Q: Does anyone know anything about the Mazda 3 diesel?
I've heard rumors that Mazda is planning to release the diesel version of the 3 into the United States along with the second generation which will be hitting the dealers in March. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?
A: I really hope so. I'd buy one. I know that a diesel Mazda 3 is available in Europe. Here's a link to the Mazda 3. It's a pdf download brochure & it takes a minute. But it clearly shows that they do have a diesel available at this time. As far as a 2010 having a diesel, that would be news to me. It would be nice. I'd buy one b/c I drive a semi & I know how to deal with them.
Q: I have a Mazda 3 with a dead battery and the car is locked?
Stored the Mazda 3 for two months and locked it before leaving, everything on the car is electronic including the key lock on the driver door. I need to get into the car to release the hood latch, is there another method to go about this?
A: It should still have a manual key lock built in the door. I haven't seen any US cars that did away with the manual key locks in the door- just for this reason.
Otherwise, expect to pay a locksmith $75-150 dollars to come out and jimmy the door.
Q: What kind of high output alternator can I put in a Mazda 3?
I am buying a mazda 3 and i want to put a high out alternator in it. Can I buy any kind of highout alternator then find out the right way to wire it and pig tail it and then and as long as I can mount it and then replace the main power wire and main ground will it work?
A: I tend to gauge on eBay with motor related items...here's what I found on motor alternators that could help...
Q: How do owners of the Mazda 3 like it?
I have a Toyota Tundra and I'm looking for a compact, gas sipping commuter for everyday use. Does anyone have any experience with the 2008 Mazda 3? How do you like it? I'm 6'3" and 210 lbs, and my biggest concern is the roominess (and zip); I driven the corolla and felt that it was pretty roomy for my frame, how's the mazda? Any input (positive and negative) would help.
A: The Mazda 3 is the most fun compact car that you can buy.
It is the fastest and best handling in its class. It is a quick car.
You have enough room in the front. But the person behind you will have trouble with leg room when you push your seat back.
The Corolla is the opposite of the Mazda. The Corolla has a smoother, quieter ride, and is much slower and weaker.
The Mazda is more powerful and also very reliable and still gets 35mpg.
It also has the best quality in its class and comes with more standard equipment like Halogen Headlights.
