Q: why is a 2004 mazda 3 overcharging its' battery?
It is a 2004 Mazda 3, four door, with a 2.3 liter engine and secuencial shifting.

A: If the battery is truly being overcharged then the voltage regulator in the alternator is shot. It is supposed to limit charging voltage output to somewhere between 13 and 14 volts. If it has died then the voltage will rise with RPM. You can replace the alternator or send your current one into an automotive electrical rebuilder. Having the regulator replaced is considerably cheaper than buying another alternator.

Q: Where can I find Car Audio Wiring Diagram for a 2004 Mazda 3?
I am trying to install amp and subs in my mazda 3 with a stock cd player. I have the RCA adapter but I do not know which wires are which. Please Help!

A: LF Speaker + red - white RF Speaker + blue - yellow LR Speaker + purple - pink RR Speaker + white/blue - black/blue

Q: Is it possible to install (or get somebody to install) a standard DIN stereo head unit in a 2004 Mazda 3?
The mazda 3 max sport has an in-dash 6 disc stacker that is 'built into' the surrounding dash. Has anybody had experience replacing the factory-fitted stereo with an after-market standard size head unit (such as a sony, pioneer, kenwood etc?)

A: i think but not 100% sure that it could be done, but the best way to find out is for you to call or go and ask the car audio fitters if it can be done, coz they work every day with that they will be able to tell you

Q: Can a 2004 Mazda 3 stock stereo system power replacement speakers, nicely? Maybe Kicker or Polk Audio?
Stock stereo, 6-disc in dash CD player, 6 speaker system(4 6x8's leg level in front and rear doors, 2 eye level tweeters in front doors). I am no audiophile, nor a tech-spert. I think I have a blown front 6x8, and just want to replace them all, with some good thump, but can plug and play in the stock system/location. You are all the best!

A: yes and no. the radio will send enough wattage for the speakers to play at moderate to low volumes but when you start to crank the volume past halfway they will sound distorted because the radios internal amp will be overworking itself trying to supply the necessary wattage, for best result you would need a amp on them

Q: Why did my 2004 mazda 3 lose 2nd gear acceleration?
Just finished changing the oil on my 2004 mazda 3, 5-spd. Now when I push the car, 1st seems fine but when I shift into 2nd, I dont get the same 'pop' that I used to get in the shift and acceleration is nowhere near what it used to be. Can ANYONE help me out? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE with a glazed clutch, why would it ONLY affect 2nd gear? and its not that I pop the clutch, its that when i shift into 2nd gear, it was powerful enough a shift to give some wheel hop. now, its not strong enough to do that.

A: You didn't say how fast you were going. If you are racing you are tearing your clutch up. Try adjusting the free play, and inspect the clutch for wear and glazing. If you have been popping the clutch, I bet the clutch is glazed. . You'll need a new clutch soon so I would suggest you replace the stock clutch with a heavy duty pack and maybe one with stronger springs and a heavy duty throwout bearing as well. With a heavy duty clutch, you'll be able to really burn some rubber! You'll then have to replace your tires, u-joints and transmission, but hey, performance is an evolutionary thing. . If you don't want to go through all this expense, I suggest three things: 1) drive slower and more carefully. 2)get a different car, maybe a nice little Porsche? 3)learn more about your car and mechanics in general, so you'll know your limits. / /

Q: My 2004 Mazda 3 A/T tiptronic does not work for downshift, why?
I use the tiptronic very much, the car has 106500km, warranty is over. I do regular maintance with dealer. I can upshift but can not downshift. The car runs very good in auto transmission. Anyone knows what's wrong and how to fix it?

A: These are totally computer controlled. You will need to have a diagnostic run on it to be sure.

Q: How to hook up and amp and sub to a 2004 Mazda 3?
I've been trying to find someone to do this for me but I can't so I'm forcing my friend to help, she sort of knows. I don't want to go to a store because I've heard horror stories about how people had to re wire their stuff shortly after. NEED ALL THE INFO YOU FEEL LIKE GIVING :)

A: Um, well wiring an amp is a complicated thing to describe, it is much easier to demonstrate. Anyway, make sure you have all the parts needed. First you will have to mount the sub, I like putting them behind the seat so that you can flip it down to give some air flow while thumping. Then you need to wire up the power. From the amp, the positive (red) wire goes to the battery (make sure that you have a fuse somewhere along this line to protect the amp). The negative (black) must be wired from the amp to some place on the chassis to ground it. Another thin wire is needed as the remote which is taken to the back of the headunit (this turns off and on the amp). The audio wires simply plug from the headunit sub-out to the amp, then the subs. The way you run the wires from the amp in the trunk up to the battery and head unit is under the plastic floorboards that rest under the doors when closed. These plastic panels should easily pop out so that you can feed the wires through. An important thing to remeber with wiring an amp is that the power cable always needs to run on the opposite side of the audio cables to the head unit or else you will have feedback. So good luck and try following a diagram for help

Q: I have a 2004 Mazda 3. I was wondering what's the mileage that the transmission normally goes on it.?
It is an automatic transmission with the m on it to switch it to manual.

A: i have a 2005 mazda 3 manual transmission. normally on the highway i can get close to 31 mpg. and can frequently get close to 400 miles on a tank (14 gallons i believe). city driving usually gets about 24-26 mpg.

Q: How do I increase the performance of my 2004 Mazda 3, 1.6i ?
I plan to go Cold Air Intake, new exhaust system and performance chip for now. Is that ok?

A: all that stuff are ok exect for the chip, that thing only make the engine runs with a cold ecu code, that means..... engine when you start it at the morning spend more fuel to make the engine reach the proper temperature so the chip will make that code dont desapear allowing the engine runs in a cold code while the outside temperature is high it will run better but your mpg will drop

Q: 2004 mazda 3 speaker question?
i have a 2004 mazda 3 sedan and am looking to replace my factory door speakers. crutchfield tells me to use 6x8 or like 51/4 in the doors. im not sure which size to go with. i also have a 12 inch sub in the trunk if thats helps any. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

A: you should get the 5 1/4 because sometimes the bigger ones require you making holes so its better to get those well if your looking for good ones rockford power series or pioneer, alpine are good brands to go with also if you put the 12 sub it would sound great

Q: I have a 2004 Mazda 3, 2.3L, 4 door sedan, I am now having really strange problems with it, maybe a lil help?
The car has 67k miles on it, I've always used synthetic oil. No warranty anymore. Here's a question. All of a sudden recently, I've noticed that when I accelerate, and the AC is on, the car makes a weezing, whistling noise, in the low gears. I can't really hear it in the high gears, maybe because I'm going fast enough to block out the noise. What could that be? And on top of that, when the car is in drive, and I come to a full stop, like at a light, the car viberates, and this....tut tut tut tut noise is coming from the right side of the car by the gulf department. Kind of like a household spinning fan, souds kind of like a cruiser motercycle idiling....you know? just not as extereme, any ideas? Oh and the car doesn't make the tut tut tut noise in any other gear, only drive. Thanks.

A: I've got a speed6 when i use d the AC the actual AC motor was the one making a buzzing noise, maybe it's just the AC, check the fan on the engine bay since when turned on it spins up, check the hoses ...my problem went away but since im not there beside your car it's hard to know. take it to the Mazda dealer if you think it could be serious issue, better a cheap fix then when everything goes kerplunk and you pay way more. zoom zoom.

Q: 2004 Mazda 3 brakes. How do I adjust them?
I just put new brakes on my car and they are worse than before...but my grinding noise is gone. Anyways, the pedal is "soft" now. How do I adjust this or make it better? I did bleed them and it didnt help. My brakes are disc brakes all around. My pedal is soft after putting new pads on. I did bleed them and this did not help. My emergency brake is connected to the rear brakes. Just dont like the soft pedal

A: If they are drum brakes you need to back the car up and hit the brakes. If you do this a few or 6 times the self adjusters will tghten up the foot pedal.

Q: I have a 2004 Mazda 3 and its making a weird noise!?
When I am parallel parking for instance and i crank the wheel and put it in reverse it makes a loud noise (like brakes make when they need replacing) and it makes the noise even if im not braking... can anyone help me out??? what is it?

A: It could be hundreds of things, none of which can be diagnosed over the internet without seeing the car in person. I would take it to a shop that does a free visual inspection and see what's going on.

Q: how much is a 2004 mazda 3 battery?
My battery is dead because there is a bad cell and when the AAA guy came, he said that it would cost me 127.60 to have them install it. I was wondering how much the battery was itself and to have one of my friends install it for me. Also where would I be able to get a new battery?

A: depending on the quality of the battery, it should range from 49 dollars on up to 200 dollars for thr best battery. you can get one from most major autoparts stores.
