Q: Brake pressure grinding on a 2005 Mazda 3?
I have been experiencing this for about a week. I think this might be the brake pads but then again it might have something to do with the rotor. Sometimes, when I slowly accelerate, I can hear some kind of soft grinding in cycles as the wheels speed up. Then, as I apply gradual pressure to the brakes, the grinding gets worse. Is this common on a car only 3 years old?

A: It sounds like your brake pads have worn completely down and now scraping the brake rotor. I would suggest you get this checked ASAP.

Q: How can I check if my 2005 Mazda 3 is equipped with the immobilizer?

A: look at the dash. does it have many blinking figurea, and does one of them look like an engine? if it does, it's got one.and u shouldn't start the engine until they ALL turn off

Q: What do you think? 2005 Honda Accord or 2005 Mazda 3?
I really want the Mazda 3, but my dad is convinced Honda Accord is better. What do you think?

A: Hi there! I would recommend the Mazda 3. The reasons for this are: 1). It gets better gas mileage 2). It is more fun to drive 3). It is just as safe and reliable as the Accord 4). It is more maneuverable then the Accord(tighter turning radius...also helps in avoiding accidents) These are NOT just my opinions. These are backed up facts based on what I have read in "Consumer Reports", "Car and Driver", and many other car magazines. Basically, the Mazda 3 is everything the Accord is, only it gets better gas mileage, and it's way more fun to drive. Good Luck!

Q: How do I program a keyless remote for a 2005 Mazda 3?

Q: 2005 Mazda 3 XM Satellite Radio ready?
I just bought a 2005 mazda 3 and on the radio it has a SAT button. Is it xm ready or just siruis?

A: It is Sirius ready. You have to purchase the receiver kit and harness from a Mazda Dealer or if you are lucky Ebay. I believe Sirius is giving 3 months free with any receiver kit purchase from a Mazda Dealer.

Q: 2005 Mazda 3 owners: Is this a good, reliable car, or should I keep searching?
How does the engine run? How costly and how often are repairs?

A: Mazdas are usually great cars to own, as they're usually made pretty solid for safety. My Dad owns a '92 Mazda Bravo Ute which he got about 2000, and it still works well and has had pretty much no trouble since he got it. On top of that, I'm currently in the process of buying a new Mazda2, cause i prefer hatchbacks, but Mazda3 would be a great car also. Another good thing with the Mazda is that as long as you look after it, it will also have great resale value too.

Q: 2005 Mazda 3 Car Problems?
I have a 2005 Mazda 3. It was bought brand new 2 years ago. I've noticed that the engine light on my car was on and I found that it was an O2 sensor that was giving out. The mechanic told me that the 02 sensor wouldn't effect my driving other than I might get less miles per gallon, so I didn't replace it right away. Sooner or later I've experienced this: Today while driving home from college, I noticed that my car was shaking and chugging. And I've noticed that my speed is decreasing. I've tried pressing the gas a little more but nothing happened. Plus I've noticed that my car gets stuck on a certain gear for a long period of time (and the car was not in manual trans mode). Next thing you know, I was on the side of the road, not moving at all. The car didn't start at all. After waiting for awhile I got it starting again, but again it drove slow getting stuck through gears... it seems like its working really hard to get to the next gear... so as soon as I got home it died. I've let it sit on the driveway for a few hours and I turned it on and it seems like nothing bad ever happened... weird. I've driven it for awhile also and there was no problems. What is wrong with my car? It had periods of bad and goods. Plus the engine light is still on

A: well first things first...switch to a competent mechanic

Q: 2005 Mazda 3 and Engine Light?
A few days ago the engine light of my 2005 Mazda 3 went off. It stayed on for a day and turned off for a good 6 hours or so. But after that, the engine light went back on. It's presently still on. I've heard that when you turn on the car and if the engine light blinks a certain number of times, it supposed to be a code of what problem it is. If it's true, what does a solid engine light mean (no blinks). What does the other blinks do? What does an engine light mean in general?? Anything bad? Need some info

A: If your Mazda is a 2005, the old key on-off-on-off-on-off-on trick isn't going to display your stored fault codes. That did work on the old OBD-1 computers, but you have a OBD-2 and you won't be able to read codes without a scan tool. If the Check Engine light is going on and off you more than likely have a bad connection on a sensor, or perhaps a loose gas cap. When the computer stores a serious fault the light will stay on until the codes are read, and then reset by a mechanic. Just a note in case you didn't know: a Check Engine light is the computer's way of telling you that there is an emissions system fault. It does not mean that there is a mechanical breakdown under the hood. In just about all cases it is safe and reasonable to drive the car with the light on. However you should get the car looked at ASAP as driving with the light on could cause more problems down the road.

Q: good deals on a 2004, 2005 Mazda 3?
Does anybody know wher to look to find a 2004 or 2005 mazda 3 with low milage? I know of autotrader and carmax, anyone able to give other good websites? I also am asking if anyone knows an old(er) person who has a recent/good(low mileage) car, but hardly ever drives it and wants to sell it?

A: So basically you want a new car for the price of a 4 year old car? Ah, don't we all..... Those are always the first to go. Keep your eyes open in your local paper to see if there are any estate auctions going on in your area. While the chances of getting a Mazda 3 may be slim, you could get a nice car at a good price. You could also check carsdirect.com, cars.com, and your local paper's classified section.

Q: where can i find parts for a 2005 mazda 3 hatchback? I am looking for a replacement "b post" (window pillar)

A: If looking for a new part, have ordered through your local Mazda parts department. For a used "B post", check with the auto salvage yards.

Q: Which is better? 2005 Honda Accord or 2005 Mazda 3?
I really want the Mazda 3, but my dad is convinced Honda Accord is better. What do you think?

A: I am all for Honda I have owned many but after 1997 their reliability and quality has gone down hill. I would not recommend that you buy a Honda Accord, that have been suffering from many transmission problems, and Honda simply does not care anymore. My mom was left to pay 2300 dollars out of pocket for a new transmission since Honda did not honor their warranty nor product. if you do purchase one, make sure that you know the full history, and buy one with some type of warranty so You dont get burned like many others did. go to google search: 2005 Honda Accord transmission failure. The Mazda3 on the other hand is a great car for the small amount of money that it costs. Its fun to drive quick, nice interior, good reliability and its a car that has broken the meaning economy car... This car handles and corners very good for its class. Its just a great car simple as that.. Happy Shopping P.S. Hey Dad, dont buy your daughter a Honda Accord, shes gonna be on the side of the road 6 times under 80 thousand miles like us!!!

Q: problems with 2005 mazda 3 hb???
i was wondering if anybody else is experiencing this...my 2005 mazda 3 hb, 2.3 lt engine is only getting 20 mpg instead of the 23 mpg when i bought it...guy at the mazda shop says it's because i'm running my air, but i ran my air 3 years ago as well. also, i had a cilinoid(?) replaced last year(my check engine light came on and my car would not start), my dash lights have gone a little dim, stereo light is not on and steering wheel lights are dim as well, and a little bit of a burning smell. this car has only 25,600 miles on it. do i have a lemon??? yep, i bought the car new in june of '05. well, i took it to the dealership, i needed a new battery...that seems to fix the dim ldash, still not getting good gas mph.

A: idk about the other mechanical probs..but my car was drinkin gas like crazy too. i was using only shell gas...i called the mazda dealership and they told me to try a diff station. sooo i switched to BP...havent had the problem since. I get better mileage now!

Q: Where is the manual transmission fill hole on my 2005 Mazda 3?

A: Manual transmission fluid must be changed every 62000 miles according to owner's manual for 2004 Mazda 3. The fill plug is somewhere on the side of the transmission - usually it's at about 1/3 height of the tranny since it works as the fluid level indicator as well. It might be at the differential housing, or in the front, but be carefull not to open wrong bolt. I'd advise to perform this operation at the dealer - it's not expensive and they use correct fluid.

Q: Problem with check engine light on a 2005 Mazda 3
Ok, so my car's check engine light came on twice and both times the next day the light was on. I brought the car to a shop and they did a diagnostic test and told me that the computer showed no evidence of the check engine light EVER coming on. The mechanic even proceeded to tell me that it comes on when you start the car and then goes off. I explained that this wasn't what happened the light stayed on well after the car was turned on. Now a similar thing is happening with my airbag light, it came on the other day but was not on all day yesterday but is on again today. The light indicates a system malfunction according to the manual. Can anyone give me any advice on why this is happening the shop wasn't able to help so I'm hoping someone here can. Thanks FYI: If it matters the car has 61,000 miles on it

A: ive only seen three cars so far with bad computers and this is what was going on in those as well but it could just be the shop your taking it to has a cheap code reader and they are unable to pull up freeze frame data from the computer

Q: Payments on a 2005 Mazda 3?
Im looking to buy a preowned Mazda 3 when i go home for exodus. How much can i be expecting to pay if i finance it? Im in the military, no credit, good driving record. Just want to know if anyone has an idea of what i could be paying?

A: Its not impossible. I had no credit and I just bought a 2009 mazda 3. It would be better if you had a co-signer though, because your intrest rate will be lower. But seeing as you are in the military you may be able to get a better deal than the average joe. I know my sisters husband is in the military and they always get deals. A preowed car is going to have a shorter financing period then a brand new car. Probably 3 or 4 years. Thats really up to you. Seeing as its a 2005 im guessing (depending on the mileage) that you will be paying close to 14k? And if you want the extended warranty (which I highly reccommend) you could be paying almost 16k. I think your payment should be around $300. maybe $250 if your lucky. Go to the dealership anyway. See what they can work with. I just bought my first car and my sister told me something really helpful. She said "if they really want to sell the car, they will do anything to get you in it." Overall, I think your decision to buy a Mazda3 is a great one. They are fun cars, reliable, and get good gas mileage. I love mine!
