Q: I'm looking at buying a 2008 mazda 5. They seem to have a pretty good rating.?
Does anyone have any experience with the car? I'm a little concerned about the low profile tires. Do they wear out quickly? Are they costly? Can you get a "standard" tire for them?
A: Yeah, get it:-)
They share engines and chassis with the rest of Mazda's models and these are proven to very reliable and economical. In fact, the Mazda 5 is probably the best driver's minivan on the market, the ride feels more like driving a normal car. That's why you get low profile tires:-) But the way they wear out depends more on how you drive not on their profile.
The interior is rather clever and driver's ergonomics is very good.
Plus, there's an excellent feature of two sliding rear doors, I don't know about the US but in Europe there's no other car with that feature in that class.
Q: Mazda 2008.5?
So I was just looking at the Mazdas on Yahoo and noticed a 2008 Mazda 2008.5 set. I was wondering, what is the difference between the regular 2008 and the "new" 2008.5?
Looking at the 5 door s Touring, everything is the same. inline 4, 2.3L, 156hp, 22/29 mpg. Is there really a difference? or just a sales trick
A: There is a difference of course.
Now the 17" alloy is standard. The grill has changed slightly. A power seat is now an option. Fog lights come on the car standard. There are new colors added. And the Side air bag/curtain and ABS are standard.
Q: Ipod interface with 2008 Mazda MX 5 Miata?
I have a 2008 Mazda MX 5 Miata. Retractable hardtop.
I had the dealer install an ipod integration module but it will not let me control the ipod from the ipod. I can only view the operations from the console display.
Is there another interface or software download that I can get to let me control the music from my ipod?

Q: XM and iPod interface for 2008 Mazda MX-5?
I need an iPod interface (and if possible) an XM radio interface to a 2008 MX-5. What is the best solution out there without spending a bomb? Is there an XM-direct solution available?
Conditions:
1. I do not want to change out the factory radio.
2. I do not want to use any kind of FM transmitters or have the signal piped in through my FM radio.
3. I do not want to do any major modifications other than adding a simple "box".
There is a $150 dealer interface for the iPod which I'm currently considering. I also want to hear from people who've used this dealer-supplied interface; such as - whether it will display the song titles on the main display, how is the sound quality, is the installation easy (if you DIY-ed it), will the steering wheel control allow you to change songs on the iPod..etc
Currently looking at crutchfield.com for an aftermarket headunit solution. It seems to make more sense with the additional functionalities an aftermarket head unit can offer. Costs only slightly more.
A: Very Easy. IPOD adapter at Mazda is same as 3. I have a spare one in my trunk from my CX7 since I added ina Nav that came with one of it's own. Any after market radio installer can add both things in for less money. If you want factory Sirius and Ipod you will need to buy an adapter same as the 2007+ Mazda3's and CX9's and 2008 Mazda5. That part only available at Mazda.

What is the stock Miata's top speed for any of the years 2002-2008?
A: 2002-2005 was a different design and had a top speed of around 130mph.
The 2006-2008 MX-5 is the new design with the newer engine. It goes maybe 5mph faster.

A: Honestly all cars are overpriced. If it was me, since its a small practical car, Id say $13-15k

A: It really depends on:
1> How large is your family
2> How much do you drive- as in u need to know the fuel efficiency.If you drive alot, u NEED to have a car that gives you good mileage.
3> What do you prefer- looks v/s utility.
4> If all that's sorted out, check for safety features- which one has better features.

Q: 2008 Mazda 3 5 door clutch issues?
purchased the thing in August 2007 and just yesterday after 15,000 miles the clutch is apparently "ripped to shreds" according to the dealership. I'm not a mechanic and I'm not a lawyer but they claim it's not covered under the 3 year/36,000 warranty and it's normal wear and tear. They say after a year they won't cover this issue. I'm not an aggressive driver, I'd say half the miles are highway, and I've gotten regular maintenance. I'd like to know
1. Is this dealership BS
2. Is it normal for a clutch to wear out every 15k? I didn't think it was
3. Is there anything I can do about getting this covered?

I don't know how to chose a best answer but I voted to it so you should win by default.

I don't see how they can call it normal ware..If you can find you papers on the warranty look it over and see if its not covered. Clutches should last several years.. it does depend on how you drive. Things that can ware it out are
1)slipping the clutch a lot when you take off or shift. (RPM's go up but the car don't move. The quicker you can let the clutch all the way out the better)
2) riding the clutch (with you foot resting on the pedal)
3) if the clutch is adjusted to high (this would be when it dis-engages almost right as you start pushing the pedal.) There should be at least 1" to 2" of free play at the top of the pedal.

Q: 2008 Mazda Tribute said to have 7 speakers. Where are they?
I just bought a 2008 Mazda tribute and it says it has a 7 speaker audio system but I can only find 5. There is one in each door, and a sub woofer in the back. Where are the other 2? They are not in the dash, in the headrest, they are not the little tweeters in side the corner of the front doors, and they are not in the hatch that opens up in the back. Any other suggestions or does it seem like they forgot to install 2?
A mazda Tribute has 4 doors...One in each door and sub in the back area, the trunk.
A: I just looked at an 08 we have here in the showroom, and your right. I can only count 5 as well. The only thing I can think of is that the tweeters are next to the speakers in the front doors. We just cant see them to count them, but they are there.
Q: I have a 2008 Mazda Miata. I have gotten 4 windshield chips this past week. Is my windshield defective?
I bought the Mazda Miata 2008 SE rag top a month and a half ago. I absolutely love this car, except for the 4 windshield chips I got on Hwy 101 and Interstate 5. I've been driving these roads for many years without any windshield damage on other cars. Has anyone else had this problem?
A: I had this happen on thunderbird and it drove me crazy, I finally got a "minibra" that just covered the front of the hood, this had small deflectors on it and it seemed to deflect not only small rocks damaging the hood but caused a turbulence that made them go over the windshield. You know it is not defective or a hazard unless the chips are in the direct line of sight of the driver. You can claim this on insurance if you have full coverage then you are out your comp deductible instead of the higher collision.
Q: Is a Mazda 3 sport with power windows and locks and a/c worth it for $400 for 60 months in Quebec?
I went to a Mazda dealership and he told me he was giving me the best offer he could give me and he was only making $100 on the car
he said without a/c and power windows and locks it would be $365 for 60 months
its a basic Mazda 3 2008.5

A: If it's an automatic then just make sure the purchase price is somewhere around $17,000
That would be a good price to pay for that vehicle.
