Q: How do you reset the odometer on 2006 Mazda 6?
How do you reset the odometer on 2006 Mazda 6? is it need new parts or some instruction to reduce the number of kilometers or make it Zero
A: The way your question reads to me is "how do I commit odometer fraud?" The digital mileage is stored in the instrument cluster. The dealer has service tools to set the odometer to the actual mileage, these tools are actually computers that interface with the OBD2 and / or directly with the cluster. If your cluster is is damaged you can find a replacement through an auto dismantler who will usually record the mileage prior to removal make sure it matches your current mileage. Make sure the replacement interchanges (engine, transmission etc) with your current cluster small features like traction control, abs etc are simply twist in bulb sockets.
Q: How necessary is high octane gas for a 2006 Mazda 6?
The manual says the car "requires" 87+ octane. In Utah, most standard grade gas is only 85 (I guess in some places, it's 87) octane. I'm wondering if I am wasting my $ on paying for mid-grade. Any mechanics or Mazda-savvy types, or others who consider themselves experts on gas grades who can comment?
Oh, it's a 2006 Mazda6 4 cyl 5 speed AT with no special trimmings.
Thanks.
A: Ping, knock, run on, engine damage.....use the recommended octane. It's recommended for a reason.
Q: How often you need to clean it on a 2006 Mazda 6? Everytime I go to the dealer for oil change they want to cle
The oil change mechanist comes back to the front and says the injector is dirty. I do not think he can tell unless he takes it apart!
A: Take it for what it is worth, I drive a 1990 Mazda and have never had to replace an injector yet. Nor has anyone told me they are dirty.
If they were I would know it because it would affect the performance.
So I think they are milking your pocket book.
Like some one else said - run some systems cleaner through it once a month. You should be able to go for 150 K with out injector problems (I have).
Q: Does anyone know how to program the keyless entry of a 2006 Mazda 6 without going to a dealer?
OK....I tried this last night and it didn't work. The car will lock & unlock when I completed all the steps. But the remote still won't do anything. What can I possibly be doing wrong? Yes, the battery is working in the remote.
A: Get in the car. Keep the door open. Turn the key to the on position and turn it off 3 times fast. Now hit the unlock button on the remote. It should be programmed. Do the steps again for the next remote.
Q: How many quarts of oil does a 2006 mazda 6 take?
The owners manual doesnt really say in english how much oil it is supposed to hold.
A: the 2.3L can take up to 5 quarts in past experience, they usually take around 4.5. the 6 cylinder takes 6. also be careful with the filter housing if its a 4 cylinder, if they are overtightened they can crack easy.
Q: Is it easy to replace a stock 2006 Mazda 6 spoiler with it's stock spoiler?
Due to causes of nature, a tree branch fell on my car and broke my rear spoiler. If I purchase the spoilers with the right color from ebay, could this be an easy do-it-yourselfer? Or would I be better off paying out the bucks to the Auto-body paint shop?
A: Just do it yourself.
There is no need to pay bodyshop prices for that install.
The mounting bolts and holes are all there.
All you need to do is remove the trim, loosen the bolts, and replace.
Be careful of the high mount light wiring.
Detach that from the spoiler assembly, don't cut the wire.
Good luck
Q: Best Size After Market Rims For A 2006 Mazda 6?
I have just purchased a 2006 Mazda 6. I want to put aftermarket Chrome rims on it. What size do you suggest and can you recommend a place to purchase???
A: 19's with low pros -- expect harsh ride.
Q: What is the estimated gas mileage for a 2006 Mazda 6 automatic ?
A: 24 mpg City / 31 mpg Hwy , ofcourse that's estimated based on the way you drive. thanks.
Q: We just change my oil & filter on my 2006 Mazda 6 and now there is a knocking sound under the hood.?
What could the noise be? My dad mentioned maybe a lifter is sticking??? The car only has 48,000 miles on it.
A: Did you use the correct type and grade of oil? Is it at the correct level? Sticky lifters are common but why just after an oil change?
Q: Once every how many miles do you have to maintain a 2007 Honda Civic and a Mazda 6 2006?
We've been told that, besides the oil changes, the Honda does not require maintenance for 100K miles, but the Mazda has regular 30K, 60K, 90K. Is that true about the factory scheduled maintenance?
Any sites from which I can learn this? Thanks...
A: It all depends upon what type of driving you do. If you are in a really dusty area, the cars should be serviced every 2,000 miles. In normal driving on paved Roads evry 6,000 miles would be quite adequate.
There are few if any cars that can go over 10,000 miles and still remain healthy. As far as tune ups are concerned, the only thing to worry about is the Valve and Ignition timing which will change as the Timing belt wears and stretches, as it will in time.
The Ignition timing is the key to good performance. I have driven several cars over 100 thousand miles and I have not over serviced any of them.
With Modern Engines that use the Fabric Timing Belt, it must not be driven over 80,000. If that belt breaks, you can kiss your engine goodbye and be ready to install a new one.
Q: How much horsepower does a 2006 Mazda 6 have? It's not a mazdaspeed, just a regular one.?
A: In the states (I'm a Canadian so I'm going by car magazines)
there's the 6i - 2.3L engine - 160hp, 155lb-ft (i drive a black one of these)
and the 6s - 3.0L engine - 220hp Ford engine.
If you can wait for the new FZI engine in the next-gen mazda6's do it. The stock engine is rumoured to make at least 255hp and could go as high as 300.
Q: Anyone know where I can find a used passenger quarter glass for a 2003-2006 Mazda 6?
A: Cheap route? Call your local salvage yard, if they don't have it they should be able to get it over the "hot line". More expensive route, but simpler? Your local "glass shop", who will install it properly for you.
Q: Is a 2006 mazda 6 a SAFE reliable car if it's loaded and has side airbags?
I only have about 17k to spend, but want a safe, reliable, car that is only a couple years old with under 30k miles. I need this car to last me 7-8 years with minimal repairs. I plan on putting about 12k on it per year. What's a good choice?
A: Saab 9-3. Nothing decpreiciates like a Saab, but hopefully the previous owner will have absorbed most of it all ready. If you check out itellichoice.com they list crash test and reliabilty info for most cars. But for that money you should be able to get one with about 30k.
Also check out the Volvo S40. Its a little smaller than the Mazda6. Its based on the same platform as the Mazda3 but has a lot more safety equipment.
Q: 2006 Mazda 6 heated seats?
My wife has a 2006 Mazda 6 with leather heated seats. The problem is that when you turn them on, after a few minutes they get very hot then they will cool off and seem not to be working at all. We had heated seats in our 2002 Jeep Liberty and they provided a constant, even heat as long as they were on. The Mazda dealership said they didn't know if this was normal or not due to never hearing of this before or not experiencing it first hand. Any help or someone with the same issue would be greatly appreciated!
A: they have an internal thermostat, when they got too hot they will shut off, cool down, then turn back on. Just normal.
Q: looking for car stereo for 2006 mazda 6 with bluetooth or phone adaptor?
