Q: How much does it cost to replace the muffler bearings on a 1995 mazda miata?

A: Someones putting you on. There are no muffler bearings on any vehicle. Unless they're talking about muffler hangers of course.

Q: 1995 Mazda miata convertable?
Does anyone if it is a good idea to buy the 95' miata with 154,000 miles on it. Do you think it will run into any problems with the high mileage.

A: My experience (Ive owned 2 Miata) would indicate that even if babied to that milage your car would likely need 1. clutch 2. a/c work (if it has one) 3. radiator (if not already replaced) 4. new top (if not already replaced) 5. second *new* timing belt 6. normal ware & tear items. The question is - what would you pay and how much time would you want to baby the car. I'd say for somewhere in the range of 2500(base) 3000(M edition) it might be worth it if you have a second car.

Q: Does anyone know where the fusebox for a 1995 mazda miata is located - cant find it!!!?

A: on my 05 its to the left under the stering wheel

Q: 1995 Mazda Miata's 154000 miles $42,000. Is it a good deal? Blue book says 47,000 excellent con.?

A: holy cow!!! You can get a Brand NEW 2008 BMW 328ci Coupe for $42,000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you mean $4,200. I would say $3,850 if nothings wrong with it mechanically. have a shop look at it before buying it. good luck on your choice!

Q: is 119k miles on a 1995 mazda miata too many?

A: Not really, but it really depends on the general condition of the vehicle. If you are thinking about buying this "miata" it's well worth what it will cost you (less than a hundred dollars) for a mechanic that you trust to give it the once over including a compression test and pulling all four (4) wheels and looking everything underneath over.If the person who is selling it refuses to let you have it checked over then walk away from it as fast as you can no matter how good a deal is being offered as there is something seriously wrong with it and the seller is trying to hide it.

Q: 1995 mazda miata, 1.8L, engine noise, sounds like lifter.?
noise is constant. oil level is up, fresh oil change.

A: Does the engine have hydraulic lifters? If so air can get into the chamber under the lifter and cause lifter noise. Diagnosis and repair requires removing the Valve Cover. A fairly easy job for your local shop.

Q: drain plug for 1995 mazda miata radiator?

A: Or it is underneath the front of the cars undercover, but you don't need to take the undercover down. there is a small access hole (kinda oblong shaped circle) with a place for a phillips screwdriver to fit in (above the cover about 1/2"). remove this screw & you will drain the radiator

Q: ??? Battery, or Alternator 1995 Mazda miata 5 speed ???
car wont start, will jump and run fine, when turned off won't crank, or even sound like there is life.

A: Replace the battery. The Alternator keeps it running while it is on, but will not help it start if it is a bad battery.

Q: Mazda Miata? Please Help!?
I found a really cute 1995 Mazda Miata and I'm trying to decide whether or not to buy it. 1. It has 79,000 miles on it 2. It's $4,500 3. No warranty (it's from a dealer though) 4. The seats, steering wheel, seatbelts, and dash board are a little worn (but I can probably fix this right?) * Also, are these cars reliable? I would greatly appreciate any help that you guys can give me. Thank you so much.

A: Hi Emily. Be careful. With only 79,000 miles the seats, steering wheel and seatbelts should not look worn. These may be signs that the mileage is 'off'. This is a 12 year old car, even at only 12,000 miles a year, you would expect it to have 144,000 miles. Note: this higher mileage is more consistent with the low price! NEVER buy a used car without having an independent mechanic (one you trust) evaluate it first. Best wishes and good luck.

Q: Have you bought an American car that is a piece of Junk?
Or any car for that matter? I have a 2005 Jeep Liberty with 24,000 miles with the following problems: wobbly windows trans slams into gear seats stain easily shift handle is loose Leather on steering wheel worn through Three recalls so far poor mpg (20mpg at 55mph....12 mpg at 75mph) Interior parts that come loose and rattle I tried to "buy american" but I get rewarded with a piece of junk. Next one is a Toyota or Honda. It bums me out some much to drive this junker, That I prefer to drive my 1995 Mazda Miata with 70,000 miles whenever I can. All this talk about the US automakers isn't due to unfair trade practices or high union costs, its due to making JUNK!!!! They have had 40 years to deal with foreign automakers and they still can't get it right, and never will. Good riddance.

A: I dii for years and got smart. Toyota and Mazda for me. No Nissan they learned from Chevy to build crap.

Q: I want a Mazda Miata?
I want it to have lower miles 100,000 to 15,000 miles. I want it to be less than $6000. I want it to work and be reliable. What year should I pick? I like this look: http://www.chooseyouritem.com/autos/photos/94000/94399.1999.Mazda.Miata.jpg This look: http://www.flickr.com/photos/89513212@N00/160338469/ But I don't know the years, because each year has major differences. I think I like a 1995, 1998,1999, or 2000? Which year would be the best but the cheapest? Where should I look?

A: 1999 is best you can hope for with a budget of $6K closer to $8K gets you a 00-01

Q: Which of these cars under $5k is the most exciting car? I'm also looking for something w/less than 100k miles.
Mazda Miata (1995-1999) Mercury Cougar (1999-2001) Pontiac Firebird Convertible (1995-1998) Chevy Camaro Convertible (1995-1999) Ford Mustang Convertible (1995-1998) Mits. 3000 (1994-1998) Dodge Stealth (1992-1996) Mits. Eclipyse (1996-2000)

A: Depends what you're looking for, I guess. For cornering and handling, from that list, the Miata, hands-down, followed by the Eclipse (AWD Turbo...don't bother with anything else unless you're doing it for looks) The Miata would also be the most reliable car on this list. For straight-line speed, Mustang or Camaro/Firebird...only with the V8. A V6 Camaro/Firebird is alright, I guess, but not fast. A V6 Mustang is a terrible idea all round. (Ford's V8-replacement V6s were just utter crap. Poor performers, poor efficiency, poor reliability) Don't bother with the Eclipse unless it's an AWD turbo model. And in that case, don't expect reliability. They're notorious as being "labors of love." Same goes for the Stealth/3000GT, except that the 3000GT is also VERY overweight. The FWD models (which are not fast, and not especially reliable) are in the low-mid 3000 pound range, and the AWD ones are around 3700. That's like Lincoln Mark VIII territory. (Mustangs and Camaros are roughly 3200-3500, for comparison) If it doesn't say VR-4 on it, I wouldn't bother with a 3000GT, or whatever the equivalent for the Dodge Stealth is. (They ARE pretty cars, though) Also consider a Lincoln Mark VIII. Similar to the earlier Cougar and Thunderbird, but with about 30 percent more power and an extra dollop of torque. I'd go with a Miata or Mustang, myself.

Q: What's the best Car I should get? READ Details!?
I have 2 boys under the age of 19mths... So yes they are in Car Seats.. I like Fast Cars! I'm not into the whole Mini Van deal. I've got my Mazda Miata For Sale because I do need something bigger all I care is that the car has backseats! And so far I'm very interested in... A 1995 4.6 V8/Auto Thunderbird - I test drove this one guys and OMG I loved it.. Surpricenly those things hall as*! And are also big for a Family.. A 1997 Nissan 240SX SE - They have enough room I've checked a Friend of mine has one.. I love those Cars. A 97-01 Mitsubishi Galant LOVE the Look!! Not sure if they are Fast...?! And - 98/01 Pontiac Grand Prix GT... Good car.. I had one! What do you think out of those and maybe 1 or 2 that you think I should look for that's not to much $$$?? I'm not getting ALOT for my Car..

A: The 240 definitely wins the looks and resale value part. It's a rear will drive so it will handle better than a front wheel drive. It has a pretty sturdy motor in it with the ka24de. It was originally a truck motor. I stay away from Mitsubishi's after working on quite a few dsm(eclipses, talons, etc). Pontiac's are better than mitsu's, but they still aren't great. The quad four motor equip'd ones apparently don't hold together from what I hear. Driving several gt's they can be pretty quick as well. I know a few people with thunderbirds and they liked them. Ya they can be decently quick. (coming from owning a 680rwhp supra) Only the quality of interior parts are lacking on the thunderbirds. As do most vehicles anyways. I think for gas milage, speed, speed possibility, and as a family car it is above-average compared to the rest. Although the back seats are not that big at all. The grand prix gt would possibly be my other pick. Even though it is a front wheel drive it has a good amount of power and they handle pretty good. As well as they have more room. For kids you need to look at possibly a little more room. They are your kids and your choice so I told you my thoughts on it. thunderbird - 3 240sx-4 galant-2 to 3 grand prix-3 to 4
