Q: Does a 1999 Mazda Miata have a front license plate bracket?
I just got a 1999 Mazda Miata and I can't find out if it's suppose to have a front license plate bracket. Or is the license plate just bolts into the bumper.
A: For the most part, front plate bracket was an option for the Miata. You can order the bracket new you need by going to the following site:

You can also contact the folks at Planet Miata and get it used a lil cheaper if they have some in stock by going to:

Q: 1999 Mazda Miata hydraulic clutch fluid leaks out. Must I replace clutch or how can I determine problem?
Stopped at traffic light and was not able to shift to first gear. Clutch goes to floor. Checked fluid level and practically empty. Added more which ran out. Hope I won't have to replace clutch. Would like information before going to garage as I don't know a reputable mechanic in the area.
I replaced the slave about 2 years ago. Adding the fluid did not pump the clutch back up. It remained on the floor because fluid ran straight through.
A: It is most likely the slave.
I say this for two reasons-
1. It will work when refilled for a while (it pumps up).
2. That is the part that went bad on my Miata.
Q: whats a good price for a 1999 mazda miata?
i have a 1999 mazda miata in excellent condition with 123,000 miles on it ... how much should a sell it for ...
A: Can possibly get 7, but no more. Too many miles.
Q: Does the 1999 Mazda Miata 1.8 engine use a timing belt or timing chain?
I was under the impression that ALL Miatas used a timing belt, but a dealer trying to sell me a Hard S Miata insisted they used a timing chain. Can anyone clear this up for me? A link would be spectacular!
A: All miata used timing belt.
He may be mistaken with Mazda MPV, it uses timing chain.

Q: Does a 1999 Mazda Miata Anniversary Edition from the US have ABS?
I got in a small collision and I'm trying to purchase parts for the front left suspension, and I need to know if it has ABS. Immediately prior to the accident, when I hit the brakes hard, they locked up and I slid. This tells me that there is no ABS, but on a 1999 car it should have ABS right?!? Maybe the brakes locked because it was braking and turning at the same time?
A: the year has nothing to do with abs, US versions dont have ABS
my protege 5 2002, when i buy the cv joints the part book ask if it has abs or not, so i call to a mazda dealer and they tell me the only model with abs is only on europe not avaliable on US so you car is the same thing as my car
Q: How many oxygen sensor s on a 1999 Mazda Miata, What does an an oxygen sensor do?
A: it has 2 sensors one on top of the exhaust manifold and the other one is very low before the catalytic converter
those sensors tell if the engine is cold or warm at the morning and raise the rpm up to heat up the engine and after that will kept the air fuel mixture balanced
they work with the air filter, low air coming from air filter more fuel to make the proper combustion
if it has the correct amount of air the fuel will be less so better MPG
Q: Any idea what a 1999 Mazda Miata Anniversary Edition, good condition, with 69K miles will sell for?
A: go to kbb.com (kelley blue book)
Q: Where can i get euro tail lights and head lamp conversion kit for my 1999 mazda miata?

The otehr sites to check out are

Extremedimensions.com
tunedbymatrix.com
I sell most of these products cheaper than advertised on site and brand new from manufacture.
Q: mazda miata 1999. where is the intake air temp sensor located?
i'm looking to add a performance chip and don't have the manual for that year. thanks.
A: It is part of the mass air flow sensor.
Q: Squealing noise on 1999 Mazda Miata (auto transmission)?
I hear a persistent squealing noise when I first start the car and shift into reverse (to back out of my driveway). After the car is placed in "Drive", the sqealing persists for a little while, then stops. If I drive for an extended period (10 mins. or longer or above 20mph), I don't have that problem anymore. I had the drive belt and catalytic converter (front) replaced 6 mos. ago, but the sqealing didn't start until recently (about a month ago). It's just working my nerves and the noise is enough to wake the dead a block away. Could it be a u-joint issue and if so, where is the joint located? Otherwise, when there is no squealing, the motor runs beautifully.
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.
A: You had the belt replaced 6 mths. ago, the season change, I'd adjust the belt. Belt heats-up and gains friction/traction.
Q: What is better. A 1996 mazda miata, or a 1999 vw new beatle?
I will need a dependable car to go to work (about 90miles round trip. I am looking at a 1999 vw new beatle, and also a 1996 mazda miata. They both have around 106,000 miles. Which one would be the better choice? Also they both cost the same
A: I work for Mazda.
But for your purpose - daily commute of 90miles, the VW is what you need. The MX5 - Miata is a fun to drive vehicle for which the fun-to-drive attributes are best realized when driving is fun. Commuting is not fun. The hammering you'd be putting the vehicle through would result in you developing an unwarranted displeasure when the vehicle starts to experiance problems associated with unsportscar-like driving - i.e. less attention given to regular service.
On the other hand the VW is a workhorse. Any on-the-road problems you'd experiance would be very easy to get seen to by a regular 24 hour towing service/garage. The uniqueness of the MX-5 would pose a problem for you in times of emergency - flat battery etc. The battery for instance is unique to the Miata. The vehicle was simply not designed for that sort of driving - though it is a potent little sports car. The key to enjoyable vehicle ownership is function and utility being delivered to you by the vehicle in balanced doses. And both must be in equal or greater quantities to what you expect at time of purchase.
I'd love to see you behind the wheel of a Miata but if my hope is to see you driving safely and joyously to and from work 5 days a week, then I'd say please get yourself the VW.
Q: 1999 mazda miata for sale?

A: interested. whats your selling price? post the pics tq
Q: on a Mazda miata , vintage 1999 does it have a timing belt or chain?
A: I believe its a belt especially if its on something that new.
Q: Where can I find a used 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata with less than 45,000 miles on it for less than $8,000?
A: Ok, your not going to a 99 Miata with less than 45K miles for less than $8K...and if you did you should be asking yourself what is wrong with the vehicle...as a salvage title Miata would be about the only type you might find for under $8K. You should probably be looking for a 99 Miata with 90-105K miles on it is you want to pay under $8K. I am not sure how the newer Miatas do, but the 90-93 Models would easily get over 250K miles on them with a good maitenance program. You could easily get a 90-93 model Miata with 120K miles and pay less than $4.5 K for a really nice Miata.
As for places to look for a Miata. I would look at the Craigslist for your community. You can also find good cars on AutoTrader.com, but I would use the search feature off of Yahoo as they are kept more up to date. However, you need to get yourself a CARFax account so you can check the VINs and avoid getting yourself a Miata with a salvage title. Good luck with your search.
Q: 1999 Mazda MX-5 Miata for $9865?
I am selling my '99 Miata. It is blk, leather, Bose, sports suspension, 5spd manual, 94,000 miles, unbelievably great condition. Is $9865.00 a good price?
A: Seems a little high.
If you have the 5spd then you dont have the 10th anniversary edition.
I would drop it down a grand and a half...to compete with the kbb price...and other dealers...especially if its totally stock.
You could advertise it at that price to see who bites...but I would also add "negotiable" on the end as well.
Depending on where youre at...the price can change...
dont expect nearly 10k for a 99 with almost 100k miles in the winter.
Just my 2 cents worth.
Good luck with the sale.
