Q: Can a 2005 Mazda rx8 standard 238 hp beat a 2000 Lincoln LS 252 hp?
the mazda is only 3 thousand pounds but a 1.0 something liter.
Anyone who gives me an elaboratge answer on the top question and bottom question get full points.
Question #2:
is it faster than the dodge charger 350hp rt?
A: 2000 Lincoln LS V8 3.9L (252 hp) 0-60mph - 7.2 seconds
2005 Mazda RX-8 238 HP 0-60mph - 6.1 seconds
2006-2007 Dodge Charger R/T 350HP 0-60mph - 5.6 seconds
Q: 2005 Mazda Rx8 Automatic?
There is a private seller selling a white 05 RX8 auto for $7,200 with 51k miles. Is this good? Any problems with the car, i heard a couple with the engine. How's the car drive? Handling? Speed? Can someone help me? any rx8 owners? Do you think the guy is legit? any opinions?
A: RX8's, as you probably already know, have excellent handling. They were designed as a road race track car and as such corner beautifully in the hands of a good driver. Yet they do this without the need of an overly harsh suspension so they're more comfortable to drive than most of their competitors.
Braking, too, is excellent.
Now, $7200 for an '05 is cheap...really, really cheap...maybe too cheap. You may want to check the VIN# with a dealership and/or CarFax to see if there is a reason for this.
Also, auto transmission models have had more engine problems than the 6 speed versions. This isn't an issue with their motor or tranny, but in the driving habits of the owners. Automatic tranny models tend to be bought by Johnny Mainstream drivers who would never do something like actually rev the motor or push the vehicle. Rotary engines need to be revved and driven hard to keep themselves internally clean. If you don't they can carbon up and die.
So maybe this car is having engine problems? A rotary specialist or dealership can run compression and vacuum tests to let you know. It wouldn't be a problem as all RX8's now have an 8 year/100K mile motor core warranty.
And lastly, the '04 & '05 autotrans models only came with the 4 port Renesis engine (the 6 spd comes with a 6 port motor) and only has around 192 HP vs. 238 for the 6 port. The loss of HP is attributable to the fact that the motor is limited to 7000 rpm because the torque converter of the auto tranny can't handle the 9000 rpm limit of the 6 spd models.
Q: is a 2005 mazda rx8 a good car?
im buying the red one this summer, did u know that it rpm redlines at 9000!!
A: YES!
Q: what is the top speed of a 2005 r2 Mazda rx8?
A: between 146-150mph drag limited officially. ive hit a few mph more in my 2004.
Q: Performance chip for Mazda RX8?
Ok, I have a 2005 Mazda RX8. I was wondering what kind of performance chip would work with my car, if any.
I was looking at a few, and it was talking about cylinders, like they were saying the chips would work with cars that had 2 or more cylinders. And I'm not even sure that my car has any cylinders, since its a rotary engine.
Any help!?
A: Here's a link to one that should work with your car

Q: I'm thinking of buying a 05 Mazda Rx8 with 98000 miles on the clock...?
I'm considering buying a 2005 Mazda Rx-8 from a dealer. Its the 230bhp model and has 98000 miles on the clock. What are the potential pitfalls and what should I be wary of??? I know about the poor fuel economy and the amount of oil it uses and I've already sorted insurance but what else should I be wary of??? And advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. P
The car looks to be in immaculate condition, and has full service history etc.
A: I can't believe that milage, that's about 150 miles a day for 3 years. I can't believe you could drive that much without knackering something, I'd stay well clear.
Q: Performance chip in Mazda RX8?
Ok, I have a 2005 Mazda RX8. I was wondering what kind of performance chip would work with my car, if any.

Any help!?
A: if you will get a chip it has to be for rotary engines, any thing else made for piston engine will not work on your car
and by the way what you want will make your car spend more fuel than normal because the chip will trick the signal send to the ecu that says is cold
the cold signal at the mourning will make the engine uses more fuel to heat up the engine, once the engine reach operational temp the engine will not use unnecessary fuel
the chip will make that cold signal always stay on,
Q: Trans Am? Or A Mazda Rx8???
Hello.
Im only 15 years old but I have started saving
up for a car and I have 2 in mind; A 2002 WS6 Pontiac Trans Am or a 2005-6 Mazda Rx8. Now I have done my fare share of research on both cars and Im leaning more towards the Trans Am as of right now cause of its horsepower to dollar ratio and I find it more rare and a better looking car but I was wondering If I could get some peronal opinions on both cars and maybe some personal experiences...Thank you.
I wont be buying/driving the car until about a year from now with help from My parents.
A: You're paying for this yourself? Go with an Accord; a 15-year-old can't afford the insurance on a Trans-Am.
Q: trying to bore my 13b - 2 rotor, over to the 20b-3rotor anyone know where to start? in NY or surrounding start
like i said i have a 2005 mazda rx8 ( shinka Ed. ) i have heard of folks bore the 2 rotor out to fit the 3rd rotor and i was wondering if anyone knows of any shops that can and are willing to do the work and if so a price estimate. i know i can do a swap but i have a perfectly good block, 20k on it so i would like to work off of it, my rwhp goal is 450+ any other suggestions are helpful.............thanks
A: This may be the dumbest question I have ever read in ANSWERS.....Why must people mess with perfectly good cars when they clearly have no knowlege of what they have. I bet this car won't run in less than a year and this guy will blame the car itself. He'll tell everyone he knows that Mazdas are junk. When, in fact, it is not the car, its the owners ignorance. Please sell this car and by a Honda....
Q: 2005 mazda rx 8 or 2005 pontiac gto?
If you had to choose between the two, which would you buy?
i like both cars alot but i really cant decide on which one i want to get. im looking for a fast car because i got the need for speed so the gto is very fast at 400 hp compared to the 238 hp of the rx8 but im also looking for overall looks as the rx8 looks better both from the outside and inside and especially with the suicide rear doors.
so help me decide, which do you think is better overall and why?
thanks alot
A: fish to cars ok lol....
well u got a dilemma here.....
tuner or muscle
the Mazda Rx-8 has a 1.3 rotary engine which puts out 238 hp, and averages 24 miles per highway, and 18 miles city.
on the other hand
the Pontiac GTO has a 6.0 V8, which puts out 400 hp, and averages 21 miles highway, and 16 miles city.
Both are about the same when it comes to gas.
Its pretty much down to style or speed...
Hard choice, but i would go with the RX-8
good Luck

Q: which of these cars is the fastest?
give me a list of these cars in order from fastest to slowest
1999 mitsubishi 3000gt
2005 mazda rx8
2003 nissan 350z
A: 3000GT VR4, 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, 320 hp,
AWD
RX8, 0-60 in 7.08 seconds, 238 hp, RWD
350Z, 0-60 in ???, 287 hp, RWD
Quick specs on each car. The 3000GT would be a fast car, but it's quite heavy. Both the RX8 and the 350Z are RWD, which would take longer to accelerate off the line as you can see in the 0-60 sec. challenge.
1) 3000GT
2) 350Z
3) RX8
Q: family is ridiculous?
ok... out of all my family, we're the poorest. Mom's a lawyer and dad's a surgeon. they make a pretty penny. here's the deal... my grandparents (mom's side) want go give all their money to charity when they die. my mom and her 2 sisters, (both are more wealthy) want inheritances. i for one think they're being ridiculous! I know our income and we don't need anything. we live in one of the nicest houses in town and my car's the crappy one. It's a 2005 Mazda Rx8. In high school i was voted best car. I know that we're rich and really don't need any money. no one else in my family agrees with me. i think it's best that my grandparents sell everything (with the exception of heirlooms) and give it all to charity. They're somewhat wealthy, but nothing like us. they have their the funerals paid for so we'll have few bills left over when they're both gone, just normal electric and cable, stuff like that. I'd estimate their savings and house is all worth over 500k. does anyone else agree with me?
to answer heather, we're the poorest ones in the family. dad's an only child and both his parents are dead. my other 2 aunts (and their husbands) are more wealthy than us. no one in my family needs the money. If they gave it all to me, it'd go in the bank and pay for med school when I go in 2 years.
A: Yes, you seem to have your head on straight--its not all about money. However, ask yourself how you would feel later on in life if your parents decided to give all of their money to charity (or worse--the cats!) instead of you and your siblings. I think that would bother me some. I suppose you should just stay out of it b/c really it doesn't directly concern you. If you really believe in charity than I suggest you put your money where your mouth is and volunteer...also, plan on going to school and getting your education so that you can be well off like your family, or else get used to the middle-class way of life when you get older.

Q: Will installing an upgraded water pump void warranty?
I have a 2005 Mazda RX8 and I was wondering if upgrading the water pump on my car would void the warranty I have with Mazda. I know such modifications such as air intakes and exhaust systems do not void warranty. The Magnuson Moss Warranty Act says Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle. So is it safe to say it's alright to install? Thanks!
The water pump cools the part of the engine more effectively.
If I install it but my engine never breaks down, then it wouldn't be a problem correct?
Plus wouldn't Mazda have to prove that the part caused the damage? So if the apex seals break on the engine, they can't possibly blame it on the water pump right?
A: A water pump... being directly tied to the engine's systems in several ways would give the manufacturer more ammunition to say it caused and defect or failure in the engine. Unlike an air intake that is a static part and is only tied to the vehicle's aspiration.
It would be a gamble on your part to install the upgrade....
But perhaps an acceptable risk?
Look into why you feel you need the upgraded water pump and determine if that need is worth the risk of voiding ther manufacturer's warranty.
Q: What is the best car for the money?
Everyone asks this, but I'm looking for a specific car... Something fast, sporty, and still maintains good gas mileage. I live in New Hampshire, too, so a FWD car would be a plus. I thought of a few options:
2003-2005 Honda Civic Si
2004 and on Mazda RX8
2000-2001 Lexus ES300
Pontiac Grand Prix GTP (year unknown)
So far, I'm leaning seriously to the Honda Civic Si, because of its power, excellent gas mileage, and the hatchback style. Anything else I didn't think of? Let me know!
A: The Civic Si is nice, but have you looked at the Subaru WRX? It has more power than the Civic, handles extremely well, gets decent mileage, and has AWD which will come in very handy during the winter ( i live in maine and my old subaru was sooo conveinent, not to mention safe).
Good Luck
