Q: Which one should i get a 2008 MAZDA RX8 or a 2008 MITSUBISHI LANCER EVILUTION tell me plz thanks?

A: I had driven a Mazda RX8 and it's not all that. It is quick but not as quick as the Evolution. The Wenkel engine is its main draw. Its very expensive to maintain because its not mainsteam. The good thing about it though is, it only has a little number of parts that can break since its a rotary. For pure speed, go for the Evolution. Easier to maintain. And besides, you can haul your friends for a joy ride racing an RX8.

Q: What is the top end speed of the 2008 Mazda RX8 Manual Transmission.?

A: The car will do 150mph. I've had mine up to 140 mph and there was plenty of space left on the tach.

Q: Hello.Mazda RX8 and 2008 Honda civic si coupe which one is better?
I would like to by a car I like Mazda RX-8 and 2008Honda civic si coupe but I don't know which one is good for me

A: I'm not sure if anyone here has actually researched this, but the RX8 and the Civic are about dead even in the quarter mile as far as acceleration is concerned. The RX8 reports mostly show it running the quarter mile in 14.7-15.1 with ONE guy who claims to have done it in 14.4. The Civic Si does it in 14.8-15.1 on average. About the same. The RX8 is FAR superior in handling though....and I think a far better machine even if it isn't quite as easy to make horsepower with modifications. The RX8 loses in gas mileage big time though...actually the RX8 is less gas efficient than most Mustangs. Anyways, if you want practical and less sporty, go with the Civic Si. If you want a true sports car, go with the RX8. It's up to you, we can't make that decision for ya! Good luck!

Q: 2008 Honda Accord Coupe v6 vs Mazda RX8?
which one is better in performance, look, gas, insurance?

A: honda is GAY and SUCKS!!!! and MAZDA is kool but the rx-8 is kooler then stupid honda

Q: What should I do about buying a car?
My problem is that I bought a used car off a small dealership for 5000 as-is, its been breaking down ever since I got it and I still have 4000 to pay on my credit card bill. Ive asked around and every one says it would be better to get a new car because it will cost more to fix it than the car is worth. I want to buy a new 2008 Mazda RX8 off a large dealership. Whats my best bet on how to handle this.

A: Listen, if you want a car that won’t break DO NOT BUY RX8! The Rx8 has a rotary engine. After about 150,000 km you have to change the parts because they get worn out. Also it is more expensive to repair a rotary engine. The only advantage of a rotary engine is that the Rx8 has 1.3 liter that produces around 235hp, For a piston engine it will have to be at least 2.0 litters to produce the same amount of horse power. Why do you think no other car make produce a model with a rotary engine? In fact in 1970 some military tanks and cars where experimenting with the rotary engines because it would provide more power but then after they tested they found out that the engines wears out fast. So if you have money to change the engines parts every 150,000km then go ahead and buy. I wanted to buy that car only because of the design. But I bought the Nissan 350z. i have nothing against the rotary engines i just think its not economical, especially if you don't wona waste money on it. i believe that Mazda tells you that at approx 150,000km come and we have to change the engine parts.

Q: What car should I get for my girlfriend?
I am going to need to sell my Skyline R34 GTR V Spec II (don’t worry I have a Alfa 147 GTA) It needs to be able to fit 2 kids in the back Maybe a Lexus IS 250 or Mazda RX8 (2008 Models) Under NO circumstances can it be a hybrid Any other suggestions Budget = 35000 pounds No Honda accords they are for Old people

A: I love it when people say Accords are for old people. I drive an 05 Accord EX V6 coupe with 6 speed M/T. It has 240hp right now, and I have smoked several RX8's on the highway, and from a stand still I always smoke my friend in his IS250 (granted it has the smaller of the two engines). Also I am getting a Comptech Supercharger kit soon, and after that I will be able to keep up with 90% of cars on the road. Not only does the VTEC engine have more than adequate power, my car also has heated power leather seats, navigation system, touchscreen controls, dual climate control, LED guage display, dual exhuast, 17"rims, power moonroof, etc etc. I do not think you can find an RX8 that is as comfortable as an Accord. BTW the 2008 has 270+ HP, the 2008 RX8 has 212HP, which is the same figure as my torque in my Accord. Also Mazdas are built like shit. I would definitely reccomend the Lexus, it is a beautiful car, has plenty of power, and the AWD version is very nice. It is built to last, unlke the Mazda. Other suggestions: Lexus IS 350 BMW 335i or 335ix (sedan or coupe) BMW M3 Lotus Elise Ford Shelby GT500 Subaru WRX STi Mitsubishi Lancer EVO VW R32 Volvo S60R And if you are Mazda fan, the Speed6 and Speed3 are both faster than the RX8.

Q: mazda cars?
ok well my brother just got a mazda rx8 2008 40 addition that was his first car in a couple of months i will be getting my first car i want it to be cheaper than his but faster it also must be a mazda becase we get 5 percent discount

A: The Mazdaspeed 3 is the only car Mazda has that is faster than the RX-8. And it costs the same new at around $25,000. If he got the manual transmission, then the 0-60 time is the same as the Mazdaspeed 3, which is 5.9 seconds. If he got the automatic, then the 0-60 time is around 7.5 seconds. Warn your brother to use the oil recommended in the owners manual, which should NOT be a synthetic oil. The RX-8 has a rotary engine, which is different to maintain than other cars. And he must drive it every day. Leaving it off for 2 days will compress the engine and it will not start unless you get it towed to the dealer so they can decompress it.

Q: Cool Cars For a 17-year Old?
I am 17 and looking for my first car. As an early graduation present, my grandparents are buying me the car...I would like to get a reasonable car, but I still want something "cool" I am currently looking at a 2004 Mustang GT (I am not a fan of the later body styles) and a 2008 Mazda RX8, but I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on another car that may be good. Thanks!

A: i'd go for the mustang. or a mitsubishi lancer. you don't like the new mustangs? i looooove them.

Q: New Mazda rx7 coming out in 2008?!?
I heard some noise about Mazda making a new RX7 rotary car sometime in 2008. True or false? And if it is true, does it still have the rotery style engine?! because hell, that's what made the original 7 an amazing automobile. and also if true, are there any photographs out yet? i found one that might be it, but it looks like a hideous rx8 with the rounded edges...not the sharp lines of the 7 that we all loved back in the 80s

A: yeah i'm pretty sure it's true i read it in import tuner. and technically it'll be considered an RX9. =]

Q: What's a good project Import car to buy off the lot as of 2008 ?
I've about 12,367 saved and feel like I deserve a good car since my Silvia(14) has been acting up since a hit-n-run someone did on it a few months ago. I have thought about a 06 RSX, 08 NISMO 350Z, or a Mazda RX8 or the new Lancer 08. I'm one picky bastard, things to consider is, the fun I'll have driving, amount of work, the mods that can be done and money since it ultimately might be used as a daily drive if I decide not to trade in me Silvia, which I love. Any options out there ?

A: My wife and i just bought an 08 lancer....mods are getting better a little slow cause its new but they are definitley tons coming out...plus you canget it fully loaded for about 20k.....

Q: TIPS on INCREASING my CARS VALUE?
i bought a 2000 black ford mustang, i got it for 6,000 dollars, its automatic and in the engine is in almost perfect condition. the body is covered int scratches and has a coupple tiny dents, and has that cloth interior. but i want to fix it up and sell if so i can buy an 04 mazda rx8 which is usually around 15000 used. im going to get rims a paint job and tint, what else hsould i do to increase the value of my mustang. and how much will the 2004 rx8's go for after the 2008's come out?

A: The worst thing you can do is spend a bunch of money fixing the car. Save the money so you can use it towards the car you want to purchase. A car is the worst investment you can make. You will never get out the money you put into it.

Q: I'm looking for a car to purchase. Please ADVISE!?
Okay, here's the deal. I'm currently looking at the following USED cars under $25K in order of preference: -Acura TL 2005 I really like the Acura TLs. The only thing that's bothering me is that new generation TL models will be out fall of 2008. Nissan Z 2005 - Nissan Z - looks like a nice affordable sports car. - Mazda RX8 2005 Mazda RX8 - again a very nice affordable sports car. I'm also looking at the NEW 2008 models of: - Honda Accord Coupe 2008 (under $25K brand new) Accord Coupe - will be out next month. I saw some online pics... they have totally revamped the coupe, looks a lot like those Audi coupes. But it's an Accord... but it can be bought brand NEW whereas the TL has to be USED in the same price range. - Benz C 300 Sport 2008 ($38K brand new out the door) Mercedes C 300 Sport 2008 - This is out of my budget. I test drove it... I just adore the new AMG inspired body style it has... especially the front of the car. I don't know if it's going to be worth it or not...

A: Likewise, look at insurance rates. However, please look at reliability. The MB C300 is a status car and not a reliable one. The TL is a really good bet. That is what I would pick. One, it is realiable. Two, it has good power and can be a sports sedan. It will never be boring. It is a good compromise. The Accords are good two. But, everyone has one. However, they are reliable too. The RX-8 has average reliability, but I have read about some serious problems...Wouldn't get it...The Z is a good car too...If you are looking at these-Why not even a Nissan Maxima or Altima...My aunt has had 3 in a row (The Maxima)...It is a sports car when you need it to be...If you are still stuck on luxury: Consider the Infiniti G35 ( It can even have AWD) New or Used this would be my immediate pick ( 30K-35K). Do your research and good luck!

Q: Car purchasing dilemma.... Please comment on my preferences.?
Okay, here's the deal. I'm currently looking at the following USED cars under $25K in order of preference: -Acura TL 2005 I really like the Acura TLs. A: -Acura TL 2005 I used to like these a lot, but now they're a dime a dozen. It's still a good car if you don't mind getting lumped in with the "me too" crowd. - Nissan Z 2005 A friend just bought one of these. Very cute, very sporty -- but it only seats 2, has minimal storage space, and has a very stiff ride. A fun second car to be sure but if this will be your daily driver, I would think twice. - Mazda RX8 2005 Its gotten a lot of raves from the car magazines for its handling but I've read quite a few comments from owners who haven't been happy with the lousy fuel economy for such a small, modestly powered (for a sports car) rotary engine. It also seems to have some "quirks" to owning it. But I still think it's worth a look, especially since it seems to depreciate pretty quickly. - Honda Accord Coupe 2008 (under $25K brand new) Nothing wrong with it, it's a nice, safe choice, but even with the V6 it's not a real sports coupe. It'll probably be able to blow away the RX-8 in a straight line, but that's where the fun stops. - Benz C 300 Sport 2008 ($38K brand new out the door) I'm sure it's a nice car and all, but unless you can comfortably afford it (or at the very least put enough down so that you're never upside down in the loan), it's a surefire way to financial ruin. Q: Need a financial genius! Trade in or keep our cars?
I have a 2004 Mazda RX8 worth about 12k, but still owe about 21K becuase of previous upside down from another car being financed into it. My wife has a 2005 Toyota Corolla worth about 9K, but only owes about 5K. I have about 5 1/2 years left to pay mine off and hers will be paid off in 2 years. Shes paying about $240 a month 6% in interest, while I'm paying about $510 a month 13% interest. Should we: A) trade both cars in and use her positive equity to help upset my negative and then pull 2k from my 401K to further shrink the negative amount? We would each get a 2008 Toyota Yaris which is about 15K each one. or B) Keep both of our cars. Continue to make the current payments and then in 2 years when my wife's car is paid off apply the $240 that would have gone to my wife's car to my car's payment for a total payment of $750 for the remainder of my car loan? And take the 2k that we'd use for the trade in instead to send a big payment this month to my car?

A: You've already learned that cars are the most expensive depreciating asset you can buy, so don't buy another. Get your cars paid off and keep them as long as it makes sense to..Why is she paying only 6% and you're paying 13%?....get yours refinanced to a rate that isn't ridiculous if you can OR get two loans if the equity doesn't make sense. You get a guaranteed 13% rate of return on every extra dollar you put against your loan.

A: If possible try to refinance your loan. 13% is pretty high. Getting it down to say 7% can save you almost 100 bucks a month. I know it's a long shot but the interest is killing you, try to get it down. Take the money you save and put it toward HER car so it can be paid off alot sooner. Then use the money that was going toward her car for yours. That means 240 + the extra 100. You may pay everything off in 3 1/2 yrs instead of 5 1/2. This is one way I see to get rid of your debt sooner while keeping both cars. A more radical approach is privately selling BOTH cars and both of you getting USED cars with the money you’re getting from selling her car. A sacrifice yes, but all you need is a car that will last for the short term, it will pay off in the long run. You will still have 8-9k to pay off but with your current rate of payments it can be done in 1 yr or so which is alot better then 30k over 5 1/2 for older cars. You can concentrate on one loan rather being split in two. After you pay off the loan you will be free to get brand new cars (ones you would like to have rather then ones you are settling for) debt free and with better credit to do it with. However with today’s economy being debt free is a blessing. I think getting 2 new cars RIGHT NOW will hurt more then help. You will owe over 30k for 2 cars (interest + tax) for 5 years and still have to pay off your 401k in which you will be taxed and will owe fees toward. "Borrowing from Peter to pay Paul" as the old saying goes isn't the best way to save money. To Hamm - I'm sorry but I had to do a double take with your answer. Staying in debt just to keep certain cars isn't smart. I'm assuming the question is about getting out of debt. Suggesting to keep going in the same direction because they have a Corolla? What’s the point of having a Corolla if they can't afford anything else for the next 5 1/2 yrs, only having 8 and 10 year old cars to show for it? It's better to sacrifice some comfort now to have something much better later.
